Hand of Jericho: You just recently dropped from Victory records because of the contract being up. I imagine you are looking for a new label, are there any prospective labels you are looking at? Any names you’re willing to give?
Anthony Raneri: We really don’t know yet. We’ve been on Victory for like five or six years, so it has been for most of our career. It’s kind of a whole new world to us. We haven’t really thought about what label in particular yet.
HJ: Shutter came out little under a year ago. How much longer do you plan to ride the record out till you start writing and recording again? Till you find a record label?
AR: Yeah it really just depends on that. We’re going to go start writing songs and demoing them. Whatever come of it, comes of it. There’s no master plan.
HJ: We have all heard that Warped Tour is like summer camp. Did you attend summer camp when younger?
AR: I did. Best times of my life. I went to summer camp for like six years.
HJ: What is your favourite meal on the Warped Tour?
AR: Brunch. Sunday brunch is definitely my favourite. They make like waffles and bacon and fruit and eggs. It’s really good.
HJ: Last year you also played the Hurley Stage, do you hope in the future to play main stage or do you enjoy the smaller stage?
AR: You know it really doesn’t matter to us. Our stage is the same size, like physical size as the main stage. We have the same amount of room. I think it sounds just as good. Just as loud and just as much room for kids to stand. I really think it’s and ego thing, complaining about which stage you’re playing on. If kid are going to come and see you, they’re going to come and see you.
HJ: Is there any one show that is the most memorable to you?
AR: Ever or on this tour?
HJ: Ever.
AR: We headlined Nokia theater in New York. Which was more than one of the most memorable shows for me. It was the biggest headline show we ever did.
HJ: It was close to home.
AR: Home of course. At home and all our friends and family. They got to see us headline. There was 2,500 people there. It was exciting.
HJ: List three band you recommend people to listen to.
AR: Three bands. There’s so many. The Sidekicks, Westbound Train, and The Menzingers. Three bands most people don’t know that they should.
HJ: There is a Zombie apocalypse, what are your three weapons of choice and where is your head quarters at? Plans for survival?
AR: Blunt instruments to the head right?
HJ: Or decapitate the head.
AR: Or decapitate the head. An ax with a really long shaft, so I can stand far away and still defend myself. I guess a baseball bat and a machine gun.
HJ: Where would you hide?
AR: Somewhere I’m familiar with, I could smoke, and with a lot of food. So a bar.
HJ: Like Shaun of the Dead.
AR: Exactly.
