About

After getting my first digital camera at age fifteen a door opened to a new hobby. That hobby has turned into a passion.  Combining my love for music and photography, two things I know well.

Hand of Jericho has been the running name for over a year. Before that it was Havir Images. The name change was something that needed to be done when I upgraded cameras. When looking at my older photos you will notice old tags.

FAQs
Q: Where did you get the name Hand of Jericho from?
A: Honestly I couldn’t even begin to tell you where it derived from. However The Road To Jericho Is Lined With Starving People by This Providence is my favourite song by them, and that is where I got Jericho from.

Q: I have noticed on your tags along with ‘Hand of Jericho’ you have ‘LauraES Photography’. Are the ‘E’ and’ S’ your initials?
A: Yes ‘E’ and ‘S’ are my middle and last initials. Though I say the ‘E’ and ‘S’ together to form the ‘S’ sound like in Ester. I think it is clever for the fact that as you already know my last name starts with an ‘S’.

Q: What kind of camera did you start out with?
A: I started out with a 4.5 mega pixel Sony Cyber Shot. It was the best of its kind back in 2005. I am proud to say that the photos I took with that camera were the best for what I was working with.

Q: What kind of camera do you have now? What kind of lenses do you use?
A: I now use a Nikon D40x which is 10.2 mega pixels. It has since been discontinued. The D60 has replaced it. As for lenses I have the standard 18-55mm f/3.5 zoom lens and a 55-200mm f/4-5.6 VR-zoom lens.

Q: When did you get it?
A: I got this camera June 15, 2007. It was the day before I graduated high school. My dad bought it as a graduation gift.

Q: Why did you choose I Nikon and not a Canon?
A: When buying my camera I was in between the D40x and the Rebel XTi by Canon. These two cameras are neck in neck in features. I choose the Nikon because I liked how the settings looked and how it felt in my hands.
